The digitalization of our economy and society runs like a red thread through the career of Martin Diem (1963).
As a young Electrical Engineer of Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Martin Diem developed the first Internet and fiber linked industrial computer to control complex production processes on behalf of Contraves Drive Systems in Switzerland and the U.S.
In the years 1991 to 1995 Martin Diem worked for Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) in Zurich and Wiesbaden, and digitalized the production control processes of major logistics companies as a project manager for SAP ERP system implementation.
In the years 1996 to 2000 Martin Diem built highly automated logistics hubs and port facilities in the emerging eastern European markets on behalf of SNCF Participations as General Manager Eastern Europe.
From 2001 to 2006, he was employed as Head of Corporate Development and member of the Executive Board of Espace Media Group and the Berner Zeitung AG and promoted the digitalization of all media products and the successful digital transformation of the classified markets.
As Head of Business Services and Corporate Development and member of the Executive Board of SBB Cargo in Basel Martin Diem initiated the farsighted cross-border urban and spatial planning to develop the Gateway Basel Nord a trimodal highly automated international container logistics terminal.
Since 2009 Martin Diem is a facilitator for excellent solutions and customer experience in real estate and manages the branch of pom+Consulting AG in Bern. He also teaches the subject «digital real estate» at different colleges.
